CJAY EXPOSES ALL HIS RELATIONSHIPS, TALKS ABOUT THE GOOD AND BAD TIMES OF FALLING IN LOVE
Have you ever cherished a song so much and wished you knew the true story behind it? I had C Jay fans in mind the moment I found myself interviewing him, One of those things trending in the Country now is his new song “Rising Sun” featuring Soulful Afro-pop Star J Slught. This song is yet to be released but the thriller of the Music Video which was directed by Multiple Award Winning Videographer Lorenzo Loveland is Out! The thriller has given a lot of people a feel of what the song is all about and majority of these people has confessed their love for the beautiful tune already even though they have not listened to it completely. I asked C Jay, Hope you won’t mind telling me the background story of “Rising Sun”? I was so sure of him talking about a Pathetic situation, but I couldn’t look into his eyes to see the depth of what happened as he talked to me because he was hiding behind this thick dark shades, but I still got what I was looking for because the texture of his voice revealed the kind of emotions I wanted to feel from his tale. In this Story, C Jay is not the Love Hero that he was in his Master Hits “ BossChick” and “My Vow“, C Jay said and I quote, “Right now I am single, to have a relationship is a distraction, but what happened was I met this girl that was meant to be a fling, but in the process she fell in love with me, we hanged out a couple of times, I thought she understood that we couldn’t take it to the next level, She got upset with me, I started falling in love too, but I just had to speak some sense into my head because a relationship with her won’t let me focus on my music career and the things I should be doing to move my life forward, so I had to keep my distance. My yet to be released song ” Rising Sun” is practically an apology to her and other girls that find themselves with guys like me that can’t love them the way they should be loved because our Career or dreams doesn’t need that kind of commitment right now.”
C Jay’s Plight couldn’t be dismissed when I realized that he is really not that type of guy that would intentionally abandon his responsibilities to love someone, especially with what happened in his Childhood. C Jay was raised single handedly by his mom Christiana Hirna, and he never had the chance to pity himself that one day his father was going to come around to take up his responsibilities in his life because his mom did everything to make sure he doesn’t lack anything and also made it very clear to him that his father doesn’t care about him. C Jay said it was a bitter truth that he had to digest and if he didn’t do that he wouldn’t have been inspired to be as strong as he is now without his dad being there for him. C Jay saw his dad for the first time when he was twelve and he spoke about how wonderful his mom is with a smiling heart, while praising his mom’s good deeds he said that when his mom go out for events and the DJ doesn’t play his song, she would walk up to the DJ, instruct him to play one of his tracks, make sure he plays it before she leaves the place, Wow! That’s a Super mom.”Lyee bility is like a father I never had”, This was when C Jay started appreciating his manager, C Jay said even though sometimes Lyee can be Overprotective, but he only does that to keep him away from factors that will hurt him. C Jay gave an example, he said there were moments when he feels something is right and Lyee feels different about it, like when he recorded a particular song recently, with all conviction he knew the song would be a hit, he even convinced Lyee that the song should drop the next day, but things don’t work like that at Bilikon Ent. because there’s a board that makes decision alongside Lyee, and Lyee being a professional, educated C Jay that things would go wrong if that song was rushed without proper plans. C Jay confessed that he was very sad but later on understood what his boss and father figure Lyee Bility was driving at.
How did you meet Lyee? C Jay was expecting that Question, the BossChick Crooner explained that it was a friend that introduced him to Andy who is a staff of Bilikon and Andy linked him up with Lyee. C Jay said his first meeting with Lyee was Awkward and that’s because Lyee told him to sing, he wasn’t prepared because he had cold, but still he sang Rihanna’s Unfaithful. When he was through with singing, he was surprised that Lyee wasn’t impressed because there was a particular attitude Lyee displayed that didn’t make him feel as if he was going to get called up by the Label. The next day he received a call that he should come to the office, he went and Boom! he became a Bilikon artist. He said that Music wasn’t something he thought he was going to take serious but his friend felt he was too talented not to be a stakeholder in the Music Industry. C Jay is really enjoying every moment of being a musician, just in the space of two years he already has evergreen hits and an MTN Liberian Music Award to his name. C Jay promises that “Rising Sun” video is something that’s unusual, it’s very unique unlike his previous videos for “BossChick” and “My Vow” that came out below our expectations and couldn’t meet up with the quality and Popularity of the audio. C Jay opened up that his fans weren’t the only one that were disappointed about the poor outcome of “BossChick and My Vow” videos, He said he wasn’t cool about the videos too and his Boss Lyee felt the same way, Lyee trusted the video directors so much but he was let down, but from what Lorenzo has done with “Rising Sun” C Jay is sure of winning the video of the year in 2019. Interviewing C Jay made it more obvious that the Liberian Entertainment Industry has a great future ahead of it.
