It is said that confidence is a stain that can’t be easily wiped out for some. Especially for a girl being raised in Liberia where life don’t give you so much to choose from. ATHURLENE H ATTIA found her calling in the world of Fashion and Modeling. Education has played a great part in shaping her to be the person she is today, she is a sophomore student studying Economics as her major and Accounting as her minor at STELLA MARIS POLYTECHNIC. How did all of this start? She said “Well for starters, I have a body of a model.
I got inspired by Noami Campbell, a well known model from London! And later on I went for this fashion show and saw girls doing what I know I can do and do it at my best!” That’s all it takes to be successful, you just have to (a) have confidence in yourself (b) Believe in your abilities/talents (c) have a successful person in your field of chosen as a role model (d) work hard to improve yourself every time.
How does she stay on top of the game in the fashion and modeling industry? What is her greatest strength or assets in the Industry? She adds “My greatest strength as a model is my walk!… That’s why I always practice to make sure I’m fit and ready at all times! For my experience, I’ve walked on different fashion shows and I’m in this modeling agency that got signed by TROPICANA to walk and entertain their customers every Sunday!” It’s tough out here, because it’s very hard to see a well successful model in Liberia that really earns a lot from just modeling, and most models are under paid due to no clothing agency and few fashion designers!” This is true, the Industry is greatly underfunded, not too many things are going on in the Fashion Industry so to see Lele Lene being successful while earning from it takes a lot of organizing and branding.
With JBULL behind her, she will only keep winning. On her goals for the future and ties with JBULL she further explained, “some of my future goals as a model is to be one of Liberia best and top model…I want to be used as a good example to other young models! Yes,I admire Naomi Campbell. Yes I am….I’m currently in this modeling agency called JBull modeling agency….I got in contract with them through my friend and they have helped me and still helping me!…It was from JBull modeling agency that I went on the runway, they made me to feel encourage and start my own fan page and get involved with modeling more!
Her advice to younger and upcoming models she concluded, “All I can tell any upcoming model is to believe in themself and trust the walk!..Lol”.
The best has not been heard of her, there will be more good news to come.
