When you think before you act you won’t find yourself throwing away the baby with the bath water, but when you caress life with numb fingers you would end up putting your hands in fire without second thought, until you see your hands burning then you realize that you are doing something wrong to yourself.
Kobazzie created an unnecessary drama out of not performing at the One Africa Music Fest, I Know his fans won’t agree with me until it dawns on you that Kobazzie won’t have apologized without him having the feeling that he didn’t act as he should, instead he started a movement with his brand to destroy the good reputation of the festival because of errors that could have been worse if it was a Liberian show. The reactions from Liberians didn’t help matters, the sentiments was too much, because such thing happened to Kobazzie doesn’t mean Liberian music is being trashed by the international community. If Liberian Music doesn’t have a say on the panel of decisions in the global market, Kobazzie would’t have been invited in the first place. The big mistake came from Kobazzie‘s team, they didn’t know the protocol of such event, even if they knew Jamal Sonpon had no plan B and that should be damage control. One thing is, as an artist anything can happen to you when you go to perform, sometimes these hazards can’t be dodged, so what you expect from your team is them doing everything to manage or erase the ugliness of such occurence. My advice to Kobazzie is next time he should get a more professional team, such shouldn’t be happening to him especially at this time that Liberia has a lot to show the world. He did a good thing by apologizing but all the embarrassment would have been avoided if he had a team that was thinking on their feet.
