The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.
The year 2020 has already seen a number of positive actions from some people including goodwill ambassador Shalom Jawhari. She recently went on to spend some time with Liberians living on the Buduburam Refugee camp in Ghana. She started few years ago by just donating food, clothes and some basic amenities to them but she realized that there’s nothing that can be compared to imparting knowledge and skills.
Shalom took up the initiative and walked from house to house on the Camp making awareness and letting them know of her new initiative to impact knowledge to her Liberian brothers and sisters teaching them how to do some basic skills. Shalom signed up few people on the first day and the next day she signed up over a thousand people. Wow! Isn’t that remarkable?
She shared photos of the good deed on social media, perhaps, to encourage her followers to be very generous.
She revealed in her caption that she’s taking up the initiative to provide 110 Liberians and Ghanaians on the Buduburam camp in Ghana the necessary skill set they need to survive. Some of the skills taught are Sewing, make up tutorials and hair-styling.
You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.
