MUSIC REVIEW: J SLUGHT RELEASES I DO AND JAREDO COLLABORATES WITH GABON TOP STAR TINA

REVIEW: J SLUGHT – I DO

Beevonne Recordz  signee, J Slught is back with a new banger this decade titled, I DO. The record was produced by J Slught himself. The song is coming from is upcoming EP project Home And Beyond which is slated for release on the 24th Of April 2020. What leaves us amazed is that could J Slught be possibly singing to a particular love interest or is it that the wedding bells will ring soon for the superstar?

+ Positives

J Slught made a very groovy dance hall inclined instrumental, heavily influenced by Afrobeat and afro-pop. The instrumental was amazing and almost didn’t need any vocals to shine. J Slught delivered very audible vocals, singing scintillating monotonic melodies and ear-catching viby singing. The chants he uttered made the song even more sweeter and will easily stick in the listener’s ear. The overall production of the song was clean and the mixing was great!

– Negatives

The lack of lyrical content seems to be the order of the day for afropop artistes. It’s beginning to be a norm in the LIBERIAN music scene. It is probably a hidden crime to push lyricism in afropop. You rather just vibe on the instrumental. Well, this song was no difference as it sounded too monotonous.

REVIEW JAREDO X TINA – BEBE

Jaredo starts off the year with a new love Jam titled, Bebe The record features one of Gabon’s top female artiste Tina and was produced by SnowBeatz from Ghana.

+Positives

SnowBeatz decided to create a cool afrosoul beat with very soulful mellow chords and soothing melody and it still bangs! A very simple beat with just the prominent snare, the kick, and the piano synth all synchronized in an organized manner.
Jaredo and Tina laid smooth and sharp vocals with great melody and nice lyrics. The Gabon singer made sure her culture was felt in the song while Jaredo didn’t do less as he represented well with the Koloqua vibes. Kudos JA JA. The hook is very catch, The overall production was great with clear and audible vocals and every part of the song could be heard. It’s definitely a song for lovers this valentine.

-Negatives

Jaredo sounded his normal self and there was no surprise element as you could predict Jaredo’s flow on every bar . I think the SOG artiste needs to improve on his flow and be more creative. This song sounds like every other Jaredo’s song. It doesn’t show any versatility or inattentiveness. We expect a little bit of surprise or altercation.
