DJ Edu is BBC 1Xtra’s DJ with a regular feature on BBC known as TIA ( This Is Afro-beats). Edu is known for playing a wide variety of African genres, from Genge, soul and Urban through to Coupe De Cale, Zouk, Lingala, Soukous, Nigerian hits, Egyptian hits and Afro beats. But as of his latest edition on the show May 16, 2020, he couldn’t just downplay “No Money” a Liberian song done by J Slught which is making hit internationally. DJ Edu is noted for playing only hits and meaningful songs on the BBC.
On the show, the DJ played ten trending songs from ten African countries and with no doubt, J Slught’s “No Money” represented Liberia. DJ Edu’s 10 in 10 includes banging tracks from Namibia, Sierra Leone, Ghana and this time around Liberia, and etc. Liberia being part of such is welcoming and for sure Liberian music is on another level.
J Slught‘s presence in the music game is amazing and he’s now contributing in making Liberian music well known internationally. “No Money” is a song on J Slught’s recently released EP tagged “Home& Beyond”. Upon releasing the album, J Slught‘s plan was to seek international recognition and it is happening speedily. Not only Liberians are now believing that the EP is entertaining, but also international DJs. “No Money” is a complete hit and was released earlier before the EP dropped.
